REAL-WORLD APPLICATION
I just got a raise from $12 an hour to $15 an hour. My friend says that's a 3% raise, but I think it's more. Who's right?

Congratulations on the raise! A $3 raise is not the same as a 3% raise. In order to figure it out, divide the increase ($3) by the original amount ($12), then multiply by 100. You can tell your friend it's a 25% increase! Read More...
